Defective Lenses & their dangers! READ!!!

I know this post has been floating around twitter, blog spot and possibly even tumblr (not surprised to be honest...) but I decided to go ahead and repost this here as well as I know many of you; cosplayers, gyaru's and what not are all - in one point or another; wore or STILL wear Circle Lenses.

But I hope some of you took the time to go to Mint's blog; http://www.hystericmint.com/ and read her latest post on the dangers of wearing defective circle lenses

Circle lenses is, more or less a taboo conversation for many since a lot of people either love them or hate them. I personally am impartial to them. I like to use them for cosmetic purposes, for cosplay and for days when I don't FEEL like wearing my glasses. 

I personally wear circle lenses 1-2 times out of the week or every other 2 weeks. I own a range of different lenses and color and mostly purchase from trusted sellers and brands and I do my research prior to buying a new pair. but with that being said....one can never be too careful.

She censored the companies names and specific brands of the company and lenses mentioned in the post but to be honest; its not hard to differentiate the lenses and companies mentioned - especially if your an avid lens wearer...and frequent blog reviewers.

The website in question is EyeCandyLens.com...thankfully I have never ordered from their website before since I like to double check and read reviews and policies regarding defects and whatnot from their website. I've looked into their website and no where in there do they mention any compensation for defects and whatnot - again this is at your risk when you do buy lenses outside your Dr's care....

I've had my own experience with "defective" lenses. I ordered the Tsubasa Princess Bambi in Sesame Grey from another website, one that I trust and continue to order from...The lenses looks AMAZING but can be incredible uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. Sometimes I'd be forced to remove them just after an hr or 2 max. Sometimes even a few mins! I've been tempted to throw my lenses away for a while now but have kept them - just for keep sakes? /: I've complained about them to my friends before and have tried cleaning them over and over with the peroxide wash and etc. It did help but not for long.

So far my other friends have not complained about their lenses, since most of them wear their just for cosplay, I got mine in perscription....so I say I probably wear mine more than anyone. but since they give me the most issues I rarely wear them - if anything I havent worn them since October. And after reading her post, I am most definitely going to be throwing mine away as there is no reason for me to really keep them when their UNCOMFORTABLE.


So I guess I just want to reiterate that if your lenses ARE bothering you, do yourself the favor and take them out and most likely trash them. Do your research and buy from reputable sellers.

So I hope this sheds some light to some of you, who DO wear lenses and to be careful from which sellers you buy from.

LOL EEEE SUCH AN OPENING POST LMAO!!! Well, finally! You guys probably seen me working on this jacket from past posts before right and well! The photoshoot finally happened this weekend! Stoked! We had so many photographers and a pretty legit set up thanks to Anh lOl for being so freakin' epic LAWL and thanks to everyone for helping carrying all the equiptment and our stuff lol. We were suppose to have a Sophie but I guess that did not happen. Boo ): We were afraid it was going to rain in down on us on Sunday since it rained the night before ;A;!!! but its all sunshine! The shoot took place in Balboa Park down in San Diego yeeeaaaah LOL. Again. OTL I've abused that place FAR TOO MUCH OMG. And since we shot on a sunday the place was incredible busy with tourists and people!!! Omg. Got a few stares - per usual but it was all good. Except for one super rude lady lol who basically told us to gtfo...since we were apparently bothering her and her 'customers' =A= when infact no one was really there, there was an art show going on that day but I guess >__>ll  we apologized and left politely. Then I went and bitched about it here LOL!











        This was the shot where the lady told us to pretty much gtfo her store front LOL. I didnt even REALIZE it was a store front =A= and we werent bothering anyone but her lol.                One of the more difficult shots of the day LOL! I guess it IS hard to hold a straight face while trying to do a 'cape / jacket' flip  I'd like to reshoot this possibly in another location with Sophie or maybe use the same location?? I dont know lol. Its always hard to reshoot a costume once you've shot it once since you dont want to oversaturate the costumes exposure...or that could just be me. 

I've only really reshot 2-3 costumes /: it being the Haku costume for Shin and Toshi's Lamento. Which we might do ANOTHER set lol since Toshi has updated the costume lol! Yay. Haha.

I know I have a few more costumes sitting that needs to be reshot / updated and whatnot. LOL.

This coming weekend is going to be one big epic weekend as I'll be going to Van Nuys to do a sakura shoot! Definitely looking forward to it! With that being said LOL I need to work on costumes tonight afterwork up till we leave on Friday evening oAo AFTER work loooool. Lets hope I dont end up sewing in the hotel room LAWL! And styling wigs too. zomfg.Need to do that still LAWL!!!

Havent updated in a while, life has been crazy ): not necessarily in a good way! April 7th's Sakura photoshoot is coming up and agh! I had to cancel the Basara shoot due to problems ):

but hopefully we make it to the Howl's Moving Castle photoshoot this weekend and I also need to finish Kenshin and Matoba for the Sakura shoot next weekend! Argh! no breaks! Time to work work work work!

My friends are coming over tomorrow to sell our souls to the sewing Gods once more and do some crazy insane work lol....(and some monopoly just for lols) I need to finish some Hakama's, Howl's shirt and Matoba's entire costume! Ahh! I wonder if I even have time to go to the Swap Meet or am I going to be forced to use what I have lol?! eeek!!! we'll see! ahh! lol. Good bye sleep ;A;ll

but for starters, new recipe! Lol, a new flavor experiment! For this weeks experiment, I wanted to try making CHERRY VANILLA COOKIES, which I might later convert to a cupcake recipe as well...but I wanted to try something new in spirit of the Sakura Shoot~ lol. Since my SAKURA Extract isnt here yet that I ordered from Japan ):

I went on a quest to try and find CHERRY FLAVOR EXTRACT. But I couldntt find any at my lunch break and was not in the mood to drive all the way to the place where I normally get my flavor oils...and While perusing the isle of Albertsons I ran into these Dunken Hines flavor starters?...Where you mix it with their frostings to get new flavors and they just so happen to have Cherry Vanilla. These are powdered flavorings - I read the ingredients in the back. So I figured, I could probably use this. And it worked! :D Lets move on~

Ingredients

• 1 cup margarine
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (You can add more if you want. I personally add a few more drops than what it asks for since i want the vanilla to be very pronounced)
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt

1 Packet of Dunken Hines flavoring

• Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 8 minutes.

Tips:

I Like to sift all my dry ingredients together and mix all the dry ingredients together. I made the mistake of mixing the flavoring last and it did not blend the color and flavor as well as I wanted and I ended up having to drop a few drops of pink coloring to attain a more cherry vanilla color.

ALSO. As you can tell, they look like pieces of meat LAWL. Coz I did NOT roll them out thin enough and used a tiny 'star' shaped cookie cutter /: so they did not come out as nicely as I wanted and the coloring looked pretty off.

Went shopping with my mom and sister last weekend, my sister came down from Berkeley for her spring break and we went to Mac and Sephora. I got a free sephora gift - the Rose lip tint balm thingie. But ah, I forgot to photograph. I gave my mom the none colored one as well.

Got new mascara to try out- apparently its suppose to help make your lashes grow thicker and etc. LOL! Speaking of lashes~ I want to order some lashes from ebay!

I got a new MAC concealer since the other one I have is a shade or 2 too light and are only really good on my under eye circles. This one is a shade meant for my discoloration and acne scars ):

seriously, a TINY drop is MORE than enough, its insane!

my moisturizer from the BODY SHOP just wasnt cutting it out for me anymore and I felt my skin was dry and I keep getting dry patches everywhere and thats a NONO! Ironic since most of the time my skin is OILY! ): d'oh. I was eyeing the Philosophy moisturizer and I had a sample packet from it before, I didnt like that it felt like it was stinging >__> my face so I decided to go with Clinique instead. I got the travel size version (for $13?....) to try out versus getting the bigger bottle version ;A;ll!! I normally dont wear moisturizer so I dont want to invest in something super expensive and not really use it as much orz.

So far so good!

Printed these 'business cards' to use at Anime Conji but I ended up leaving the con early orz and didnt really get to network or even take pictures since it was just RAINING. no. it was a STORM. and I was SOAKED =A= when I attempted to be a warrior and shoot with my friend outside. Orz. but hey, atleast I got 'cards' now LOL!

My new raburabu guilty pleasure from Tapioca Express <3 MATCHA MILK TEA. HNNGG too bad the boba shops near my house doesnt exactly have matcha milk tea. You also have the option to get this sweetened or not. I might attempt to make my own LOL. Just coz.

Maybe I'll use half x half or condensed milk?...hmm...I should have asked what they used to sweeten it orz but zomfg. Amazing. LOL.

New powder since my NYX one broke and I couldnt wait to go to Mac to get a new powder. nor did I want to spend $25 on a new powder LOL....

I've heard good things from Physicians Formula and opted to try this, its a 3-in-1 powder. Primer, Color Corrector and foundation/shine control :o hmm sold! and I like that it feels SUPER light on the skin- if anything it probably makes my skin feel softer LMAO!

They dont have alot of shades but thankfully enough I can work with this lol. Not complaining! it was less than my NYX powder and does not leave my skin cakey!

My default lip wear. I envy girls who can wear light pink shades. I always stick to the nudes and rosey pinks and nudy pinks....and tbh. I dont really wear them half the time =A=ll

I lost my keys. So this is my face. I had to go get new ones made.

So I decided I'm moving back home to my parents...lol, well, they live in an apartment right now but were looking at getting a house and I'm looking at moving back home coz I'm a fail child and cant afford to live on my own with currently circumstances - bills bills bills hospital debt car payments. Life. And the fact that I fight every inch of urge to stab my roomate 8D I'm a bad person, I'm sorry lol. Too personal, etccchh fffuck. lol. I try to refrain from that on blog entries but W/E!

I clearly cannot take a Selca for the life of me, BUT THATS OK COZ MY FACE ISNT IMPORTANT AND I JUST FELT LIKE BEING A DERP AND PLAYING WITH MY CAMERA ORZ. MUDDAFUCKER LOL.

I found my old weaves, well i think their not old, I just dyed them from being blonde and when I first did them my hair was darker dark red but I guess now my hair is closer to that brighter red, but knowing me I wont wear it to work - clearly too much effort as of right now lol, but its def fun to doll up once in a while. (even if I'm just gonna rot at home sewing =A=;; lol, might as well look/feel good doing it right hahaha)

And, that pleather for Yukimura =A= not fun to work with LOL but looks BEASTLY hahaha. Gawd. I lost my paper pattern for the top of the spear. lol. great.
Also need to pick up resin too.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the original version LOL this makes it sound so much more clubby- and better fit for a DJ hahaha.

-running around the train station only to fail miserably...
-shot a vlog (on tumblr)
-sewing and lots of sewing! and ah still so much work to do! ): and so many more shoots to plan! LOL
-I also learned that the princess bambi series look best when one is wearing lashes ;A;
