Los Angeles Free Museum Day

I'm honestly probably going to be kicking myself for this but my friend posted this list on Facebook about 20 different museums in LA will be doing a FREE admission day. WOAH WOAH WOAH HOLD YOUR HORSES

and 2 of my favorite museums are actually on the list! The Getty Center  & the Getty Villa.

I've been to the Getty Center (wow shitty photos were so shitty. I think I took them with my old LG ICE CREAM LOL YES. KPOP PHONE SINCE I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE CARRYING A DSLR) and would love to go back in a heartbeat if I could! Its such an amazin place but ugh the drive! Curses for not living in LA but at the same time yay for not living in LA? IDK in the recent years I've come to appreciate that I do NOT live in LA but sometimes I kick myself for the inconvenience of not living there...thats a story for another time..

point of the matter is, I'm super excited for this and would drive the tedious 2.5 hours to gave at some plants and fountains and shit I cannot touch :D

I just booked my ticket to the Getty Villa (which I've been oogling to visit since I first step at the Getty Center) and I'm also hoping to see LACMA since I hear theres a Samurai exhibit there right now. Oh yes. My inner weeb is screaming.

I'm back logged from more posts since I got sick with the flu recently , its been going around in the office and even at home. Hitting me and my little brother together so we got quarantined away from the rest of everyone else (that didn't last long lol since I pretty much spent the rest of the weekend dying on the couch playing Warriors Orochi again. Goodness how much I missed that game. But I haven't even finished Dante's Inferno orz and I  need to get the map pass for COD I just...haven't boo) 

I thought I would have more of an update to talk about but turns out I didn't. Or that I thought I had more photos sitting in my PC but turns out I didn't /: I guess I'm quite boring, that or I just dont take photos when I'm drunk LOL

Last weekend (??? I already lost track of time) we did the hunter x hunter shoot and it rained heavily the days before so instead of having a bunch of people coming out, it turned out it was just us .__. oh well.

Some behind the scene shots from the shoot, yeah, again I thought I had more photos from the weekend but I clearly didn't orz boo, maybe I was too pre-occupied from not dying lol..DO YOU SEE HOW HIGH UP I AM ON THAT ROCK?! lol (too chicken shit to go closer to the edge)

We went to an abandoned zoo/old old old zoo in Glendale and also rode on old Carousel~ OwO Hisoka wasn't cooperating on the carousel ride so no photos lawl. But Kurapika sure was enjoying themselves.

And why are the kids playing in the dark?! lol, it was an abandoned shack we found in the back of the zoo.
There were a bunch of hipster kids there too taking photos of their group with their flower band headbands and funky colored tights  ಠ__ ಠ

Yeah I did some shopping before, this was from a while ago but I finally got them  ಠ_ ಠ eee my wallet. 
I love you taobao LOL that Chanel purse was only $20 hahahahaha. Is it real? Is it fake? psh. For $20 it can be w/e! 

Some Boy London Lggings and more Vivienne Westwood stuff, earrings to compliment my orb necklace and armor rings. I don't think I can ever get tired of VW. I love their accessories. So classy and timeless. And I hear Ai Yazawa is drawing again, does that mean we'll finally know what happened to Nana?! :o

Macarons and Rilakkuma haul from Little Tokyo from that weekend~ I figured I should get some stationary for when I write stuff / send stuff to people lol. And Macarons!!!!!!!! ROSE X VANILLA FOREVER I tried to get my family other flavors before but they always end up rotting in the fridge and no one wants to eat them =A= so they get basically....PLAIN Vanilla :x (I'm not complaining coz I actually love these two flavors hahaha) 

THE BEST PART OF THE WEEKEND WAS. (other than 4 hrs of karaoke resulting in me without a voice and killing 3 things of Soju and a bottle of rum) WAS BEING ABLE TO TRY ONE OF THESE LUSTROUS BREAD BOX THINGIES OMMGG /DIES/ I know Akiba in SF is pretty famous for these so when I found out SoCal actually has this /deaaaath/ 
Its ok, I walked *a lot* the day before so I can gorge myself on this LOOOOL 

I forgot where Ash took us, some place in Roland Heights something Cafe ಠ___ಠ....

Fail.....

Its basically a giant box....made of carbs bread lol. Filled with more carbs bread and did I mention it was SWEET?! and In it, you get ice cream, fruits, sweet condensed milk and more bread~ and honey and etc :o /savory/  its ok, I justified it by working out days after coming back, the effort still counts. I also downloaded Hip Hop Abs. NO shame. LOL. I don't like talking bout what I do as far as working out goes coz then...lol. Just no.

But yeah, Valentines is coming up, I had intended to do some shopping for supplies over the weekend but I got sick and sat on the couch and ate. Slept and gamed a whole lot x__X so I guess that means I'll procrastinate and try and get stuff done next weekend. Baked. Boxed and shipped out .___. all before V-day....its also Toshi's bday too

224. BTS Hotarubi Shoot / LA adventures

ohohohooo ok not much for a behind the scenes post coz I didn't really take MUCH behind the scenes photos, well I probably did but I didn't get /all/ the photos up coz really, their just pretty boring )':

and we didn't really have any epic set up tbh lololol...so you just get some food pr0n from our adventure in LA

 

 

The shoot took place in a 'recreational area' in Hollywood OwO (damn all these driving!!!) I didn't really get a chance to snap a lot of behind the scene photos since we didn't really have a helper with us during the shoot, it was basically me, another photographer (Anh, yay) and the 2 lovelies Hannsel and Yuki for this Hotarubi shoot, I did took some videos on her camera but I am definitely not looking forward to scrubbing through the video. Was planning a full blown amv style but, yeah, didn't happen. Since its impossible to shoot still and video at the same time - it would have happened if we had some more helpers with us. But oh well!

SUPER CONDENSED PHOTO BLOG ENTRY UWAWAWAH....After rolling in dirt all day lol ( why do I always end up doing that hahaha idk why. Its probably to get all them angles!!!) we crawled our way to THE GROVE, apparently a super swanky super expensive mall oAo but we were desperate for food...but we managed to stumble on the Farmers Market which - to us Asians, reminds us of HongKong or the night market back homes looool.

Clearly, my favorite part of walking through it was the desserts hahaha

we were all probably shamelessly oogling at them. (I know I was eyeing them Macarons badly)

 

A sustaining meal from La Korea (seriously, is it 'The Korea"? or LA as in Los Angeles Korea?!)

we walked around the mall owo;; but didn't venture very far...

Lastly the trip concluded with going  to Puenta Hills for some desserts at Genki Living *w* and custard / red bean filled Taiyaki ohohoho (which is basically waffles lol)

um yeah maybe I'll edit this post with more photos or something, or I'll get around to scrubbing through the footage I have for some form of video ;A;!!! loool So much fail.

Hannsel was such a trooper for braving the 100+ degree weather in Los Angeles this past weekend for Nisei Week, unfortunately most of the cosplayers werent showing up till Sunday for the parade, so we pretty much showed up a day earlier....


there were a few cosplayers but most of them were all dying in the heat...I personally was to...but again, I dont know how Hannsel did it but she definitely braved the weather to do this shoot. Thanks to Rice from whenwasthistaken.com for helping sneak us into the Kyoto Grand Hotel for the Japanese gardens on their rooftop.

We had to work pretty quickly since the venue was being rented out for a pageant and a wedding as well?!.... Thankfully we got a few decent shots while being there~


let me be the first to admit that I only seen a few episodes of Gintama and only know of the characters through wikipedia and from what my friends described LOL. So I had to rely on the cosplayer to channel the character their doing and I think it worked together pretty well~ as I wasn't sure how I would edit the photos. But I think it turned out pretty well *u*

211. Nisei Week 2012!!!!

                                             

Ommmmgggg its sooooo hooottt I should not even be allowed near my laptop, despite the cooling fan pad I have on it, its still hot QwQ *sobs* I know some people probably have it worse, but San Diego normally does not go pass 80! These last few days are like 90s!! omfgggggg sobs...

and then I decided it was a good idea to go to Nisei Week up LA this past weekend lawwwl where the weather is always a lot worse hahaha omg. /dies/

Originally we wanted to go up on Sunday when the cosplay parade is going on and more and more activies would be going on...but Hannsel can only go on Saturday due to work, and my sister is flying home from college on sunday anyway so it looked like Saturday was the only day we could make it happen lol...Lo and behold the moment we got there we were dyinggggggg so a trip to Curry House was needed (mostly coz I wanted those cream soda drinkies they have and couldnt think of any other place in LT that sold something similar or a parfait for that matter QwQ!!!!) and we were hungry....

Line there was extremely long. D8 whyyyyy lmao, its so hot - people don't eat curry!!!! Go eat Zaru Soba or something LMAO!!

We had some refreshhhhmeeentsssss Lime, Cherry Cream Sodas and Green Tea and Fruit Punch! Tried the Tofu Curry Katsu too :o it was very light and interesting....wish they gave more curry lmao. Since the rice makes it taste more bland...hahaha...

Then off to the Fairytale Boutique that recently opened?....not too long ago? They mostly buy and sell Lolita Clothes! Both Bodyline and actual brand clothing and some cuter accessories too. It was...too...pink o___olll

That AP dress was too cute. Love the design and cut on it, but maaaan I will never be able to drop $300 for a dress and still gather enough $$$ to complete the outfit lawwwl.....

I mostly went there coz I heard they were having some special on some funky tights *u* and also carried /some/ Kreepeville666 accessories, was hoping to score some horn clips coz my last pair broke and got lost lawl. But they didn't have em, so I settled with these eyeball ribbons LOL! Still cool~ I appreciate the careful care in packing their sold items :D 

I honestly dont know who this guy is, but he looks like he belongs in Kamen Rider, but from what I hear hes not really a kamen rider lol...I only really remember the older series of Kamen Rider. And apparently they also had some sort of live performance on the stage WHICH I MISSED DDD8!!

He was such a good sport and fierce on his poses LAWL! Wish I got a full body shot orz I caught them as they were walking to their destination....boo but gdammnn warrior mode for having worn that in like 100+ degree weather....

Then off we went!! sneaking into a secret garden~ into the Kyoto Grand Hotel LMAO!! They were using the place for a wedding and a pageant as well I believe as there were some chairs and etc. set up on the upper side of the garden so we kept ourselves to the bottom half and quickly worked our way in snapping away photos!!

I plan on posting the set on a different post~ We got caught after a few minutes and they simply asked us to go...loool. damn XDD....Walked around some moreee and got some SHAVED ICE OMFGG

We got bubble gum and watermelon, I kinda wish I gotten the Melon one - probably would have been more cooling hahaha~

Jungle Anime bought out one of the other shops there and used it for a Purikura place~ they have at least 4-5 Machines there! :o but their all pretty pricey =A=ll at atleast $6-10 a machine...Purikura isnt cheap lol...And they also have some of the claw machines there too. This one has "beer-kun" (no, thats not really his name...I just named it that LMAO)

Too bad we couldn't find Sake-Dono, Vodka-san or Soju-Oppa there too LMAO...

I suck at crane games so I didn't even bother even if I wanted him LMAO....

Dinnnneerrr timeee :o (as if we didn't already do ENOUGH eating for one day LMAO) Silver Pae (who will be my lovely Nonette for the Code Geass shoot) treated us to Orochan Ramen :o (it was featured in Man VS Food with the super spicey ramen) but me and Hannsel chickened out of eating ramen considering it was already pretty hot out and settled with cold noodles. (I was hoping they were Zaru Soba tbh but its still good! :D)

Man....their ramen portions are HUGE D: they are not joking with how generous their portions are!!!

Just staring at it is quite intimidating .___. if I were to ever try their ramen, Probably going to end up sharing just coz how huge the bowl is LMAO.
