I'm falling behind again~ I've been trying to keep content updated on my FB Page though but in terms of blogging I'm always falling behind and I'm still wrapping up a few more edits on a few shoots I've been working on.

And I got a few more coming up...I'm thankful for everyone who is eager to see the photos QvQ I was so hyped for the NANA shoot that I...really need to wrap up the 2nd half but I still got quite a bit from Katsu to wrap up and then book layout! Ah nothing has changed! LOL

TG has always been a goal of mine to shoot and I'm super stoked to have gotten this chance at Katsu.
Admittedly, this shoot was rather rushed??? There was quite a lot going on and not to mention it was really cold so we were unable to shoot outside as I had intended to try and get a urab style shoot but I'm very happy with how this turned out.

Cosplay by Nepesi, I'm sorry I didn't catch her Touka's name QvQ I will go back and update this when I am able to get her contact info. I'd still love to be able to shoot another TG set in the future though!

With 2015 finally coming to an end and were waiting for the big bang of 2016. I'm trying to catch up on all my post - which I might as well give up on TBH LOL

 

I don't even know if I'll be able to do a 2015 review. Though I WILL TRY ahaha. I'm definitely looking forward to 2016. Namely to a full booking for Katsucon. With this prospect looking good, I might try and head to Anime Weekend Atlanta next!

 

But before we digress any further, a throw back to the set from summer!

 

 

Lens shops that still takes Paypal!

With the sudden rise of many major circle lens store switching from NONE-paypal payment to direct credit card payment. Many people are weary about purchasing from these stores for fear of fraud charges on their accounts. And for many of us in the US our cards are held or suspended transactions until the bank hears from us saying - please process.

Heres a list of circle lens stores that still takes PayPal and I have bought from them before and haven't had any hiccups with their transactions.

 

Kawaii Love Beauty: One of the few sellers that's actually based in the US. Most of their plano lenses ship from their US warehouse but prescription lenses tends to take a while to process since they have are being shipped from another region and not in the US.

 

Limited selection of lenses but great for those who prefer gyaru style lenses. If your looking for cosplay lenses and are in a pinch, I suggest the geo tri-color series (or any of the tri color series which they do carry)

 

 

 

Kiwiberry1: I use to shop here a lot for all my lenses since their usually pretty good about promos (they do them quite often but it just basically negates the shipping charges for the most part)

processing time is average like most sellers. Same with shipping.

 

Has a good selection of lenses and carries a lot of the older lens series (staple geo series)

 

 

Love Shipping Holic: does a lot of promos and code promos if you google up bloggers.

I haven't ordered directly from them myself but have only done so through group orders.

So far so good. Has a wide selection of lenses, MAKEUP, lashes and etc!

 

Does promo for express shipping, they do ship from Malaysia I believe.

 



 

Uniqso: Another website that does alot of sponsorship with alot of bloggers, so if you just google real quick its pretty easy to find 10-15% off coupon codes from bloggers.

Another one that has a WIDE range of cosplay lenses, especially cosplay centric ones like Tokyo Ghoul and etc.

 

Also has wigs, wide range of makeup and lashes selection. Basically your one stop shop if your a cosplayer. I hear they ship faster to the EU region than they do the states. I ordered from them once and it took ave 1-2 weeks??? Shipping was DHL.

Funfact: When I posted this set online, Ironically it was on 12/7...

which marked to be the 74th annv. on the attack of pearl harbor. The ship in question; the Akagi  赤城

was the flag ship that led the attack on pearl harbor.

 

Quickly following the Fire Emblem shoot we did, the girls quickly got out of costumes and switched to RWBY and League of Legends Heart Seeker Ashe but by the time they wrapped up and changed the sun had already set on us. This was a big learning curve for me to have to be forced to shoot in the dark. Again thankful to our helpers Trish and Anthony of Bits Photography for teaching me a thing or two about shooting in pitch darkness!

We had to use our phones and flashlights to light the way for the shoot and use it to light a focal point in the cosplayers pose/costume and target our cameras at that, pray and hope we got the shot we want ahaha...trooper again to Cindy for climbing that tree trunk in heels!

I dont have any BTS to show for this one since it was nearly impossible to get any since everything was pitch black. We had 1-2 sets of slave flashes to help illuminate the set. 

 

Fire Emblem Awakening Cosplay Shoot

Its almost the end of the year and I'm trying to play catch-up to all the entry back logs I have...

Also yay updated the layout. Let me know if its annoying/bad since I know it does the pop-up thing now per page...But I digress, lets flash  back to the 'beginning of summer' LOL AKA July right after AX when my Florida bbs came and stayed with me for a few days and where we managed to do some on-location shoot for a few of their costumes. Yes!

Fanime 2015!

I just want to start with wow! Its been *such* a long time since I've really enjoyed myself at a con :)
I miss everyone so much and post con depression is hitting so so so so hard lol.

Trying so hard to stay awake at work right now too....lolol

This is surprising that I'm even writing this so soon since normally I give it MONTHS before I can actually sit down and do my con-report but since I'm still in vacation mode (despite being back at work) ahahaha I wanna pen this down as quickly as I can before I loose out more precious details uwu;;

艶漢 | Adekan Photoshoot

Just got back from Fanime! And wow, such a quick turn around on photos this time ahaha.
This is probably the only shoot I really did during the con :x (and I ain't even mad aha) I'll be posting my con report shortly after this but I need to pat myself in the back for getting these out rather quickly and thank you Lynn for putting up with my nonexistent schedule and making time to shoot :D  really love Adekan~ Hopefully I can be more active again in the future huehuehue.

하백의 신부 | Bride of the Water Gods Commission Notes

The SF blog post should technically go up before this one considering I went to SF first before finishing this commission ahaha...but...oh well, out of order posts...

This is my 2nd (or 3rd commission) for Ruiki already and this was more or less one of those commissions we've talked about and had planned and was going to kinda-sorta-do and it just kinda came down to the wire that 'oh, were actually doing this' type of thing so we should probably rush and get our heads together and make it happen LOL!

Bride of the Water Gods is something I'm familiar with, I remember reading it a few years back but falling out of the radar, I admit the art and the style is simply gorgeous - who doesn't love some old fashioned Hanbok x Hanfu style period costumes??? I do I do but I admit their not easy on the wallet especially if you want huge big costumes which requires a good amount of fabric and whatnot.

yooooooo omg ok let me start off this post by sounding like an illiterate idiot and how informal all these posts are becoming but its all good. So....

HAS ANYONE BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THE NEW SEAS ONF OTHE WALK DEAD?! YO OK. IDK. I told myself I cannot deal with this show. Don't get me wrong.  I love me some zombies and etc but wooooooow.

Somteimes I just need to stop. Lay on the floor and reassess why the fuck I'm watching this LOL....this is shingeki feels all over again...Then again I feel like by season 5 we should already know by now to expect the worst and that everyone is eventually going to die anyway ahaha like what even. This is a zombie apocalyptic world. Everything is going to end AHAH //wow pessimist much?...

Yeah basically marathoned this through Netflix and just started up on the new season. I hate following a new show season after season coz you have to wait for the next weeks episode versus if you wait it out then you get to binge watch everything aha...all my feels towards American Horror Story but with mid terms I'm behind an episode anyway so maybe by the time I'm ready to watch it theres atleast 2-3 episodes for me to binge on :x .. not like I really have time but I feel I've taken it quite easy this last week despite it being mid terms OvO;; The professor gave us an extension anyway so...huehuehue....

Mayoko Okino is the wicked witch of the east from Zone-00 Zone-00 has such amazing artwork and character designs that its quite intimidating to even phatom trying to cosplay or cos test anyone from the series unless your super tall and lanky CLAMP style characters. I did this on a whim. Took apart an old NANA wig and threw together some extensions to replicate her braids and wow. This happened.  Quite surprised and shocked myself.  Makeup is so fun.     Eyes: Princess Bambi in Chocolate Brown  Lashes: Diamond Lash  Lips: MELT Six6Six

Dream of Doll Cosplay Notes!

I don't see alot of people doing cosplay write ups anymore that or I'm simply become so lazy and socially inept that I dont care or just cannot keep up. That or everyone just buys alot of their costumes nowadays QwQ I see alot more prop blogs popping up and bless them though~~~
and IDK maybe I just really dont keep up with alot of cosplayers nowadays since basically I'm in and out of the scene but I feel I'm slowly getting back to it (wowI say that) but I really am not as hardcore in terms of busting them out as I use to...its a fun expensive and rewarding hobby I guess but I digress as always!

This post is meant for me to basically ramble and do notes on one of the dream cosplays that I've been planning for *years* and am glad that its finally done and I need to patiently wait  for the day we can reshoot or when Ruiki can reshoot it with another photographer or SOMETHING and get some good photos~ I was somehow dragged / suckered into doing Delphine as well. AHAHA POTATO Delphine sobs.

The pattern for Ducan was all drafted using flat pattern technique and draping. Mostly draping though since the model I was working with is not any where near me and I was too scared to YOLO it too much so I actually admittedly remade the white collar piece 2-3x coz I was just not happy with it. Its an odd shape/look??? And I had to take liberties on how it would look, keeping in mind I was trying to keep the construction and look of it somewhat realistic or plausible...

 

The vest pretty much is a no brainer in terms of drafting 

but as you can tell from the photos of the cosplayer below (oops. I made it too short)

but its ok, coz Godbless my model is fabulous AHAHA

The coat pattern I drafted from scratch. I started with the basic silhoutte and did the slit circle skirt technique to get the full effect on the bottom of the coat and attached them together to make one big pattern before transferring everything to the fabric. It may not make alot of senses in terms of what terminilogy I'm using but if you want me to draft you an idea of how the pattern looks, I'd be more than happy to. Its a very similar pattern I used for Ky Kiske and other coat cosplays that require a big bottom that gives you the 'vampire swoosh' effect or so I like to call it :D....

 

I took some liberties with the costume and the best part (imho) is the lining and you probably can't see them in the photos here but I used a heavy twill fabric for  the overall coat, I had originally contemplated on using a full leather or pvc but I'm glad I went with the heavy twill instead and I used a black rose brocade fabric as inner lining. Why use such fancy material for the lining? For the sole reason for when the cosplayer walks and the coat FLIES in the air of course! AHAHA

All photos and editing done by me. I'm really hoping to get better shots of this costume in the future and hopefully then we'd have elf ears with us a curling iron so we can curl the wig! AHAH The straightener trick just wasn't cutting it...

I am /very/ happy with the results and how she embodied the doll Ducan quite well in my opinion *w* I'm looking forward to making more costumes in the future~

Now to move onto potato Delphine. Tbh there isn't much to touch on hers as she was more or less 'yolo' mode ahaha..so I'll just leave it at that....wedidntevenshootogetherahaha....but heres my cosplay tests and photos OF Delphine I guess....ish!?!!

The only thing I can tell you is that I wore way too much makeup for Delphine and ahaha it worked. Layer on that Mehron is what I say :DDD

NANA makeup post 2!

ahaha whut. Heres another NANA dump photo posts!?! I tried making a tutorial for this look before but just utterly failed. How do people make makeup tutorials anyway ahaha sooooo much effort I just couldnt!

I also got a new wig (not in the photos) which I was gonna wear to Fanime but I ended up not wearing NANA to Fanime or AX at all aha coz...packing!?! idk =3= I'll be able to cos this forreal someday...uwu

  Makeup used: I used a burgundy eyeshadow and dark purples from Inglot. I dont have the exact name of the shadows I used but those two colors are usually my go to for makeup looks >_>;; especially with NANA so I guess you can just look at how I applied the color???

Lashes worn are Pa and Diamond Lash lashes *w* I dont remember which ones either...
Lips I used Melt Six6Six! lovelovelovelovelove it even though it cost more than a mac lippie! Lenses I used were the princess mimi in brown
  Oh look, I tried to be gei and try my hand at Reira too AHAHA  coz my friend Ruiki was gonna try Shin but Idk if I even included the photo dump here looo   For Reira: I covered my brows with Nyx crayon in pink and over that I applied a dusty pink eyeshadow (the ones you can find at Naked 3. I used an individual color from Pixel called dusty rose)

For the eye makeup, which you probably can't see very well I went with the color palette from Naked 3. A wash of peachy pink on the lids as well as a dusty rose color on the outter corners. A frosty pink eyeshadow on the inner corners. For lips I used my YSL rouge lip in 35(?) and a shit load of contour.

As always the foundation I used for my makeup tests are all Mehron. I use 2-3 different shades to bring my tan butt to a lighter shade *w*;;

I.Fairy Red Lens Review

 

Diameter: 14.5mm

Water Content: 42%

Base Curve: 8.6mm

Replacement Period: 12 months 

 

I've used these lenses quite a bit for several different looks but one thing I gotta say about these lenses is that they are incredibly vibrant. Very bold color pay off and has a very thick limbal ring! Definitely not for the faint of heart! 

They come off quite strongly and makes a great statement. Definitely not for the moe type characters if thats what you intend on using them for cosplay!

The great thing about these lenses is they show up incredibly well even in indoor lighting settings and for portrait cosplay shoots where your not exactly in full frame of the camera. The photos I posted below are mostly in-door lighting so you can definitely see how well these lenses do in terms of design and color vibrancy.

The water content on them makes them quite comfortable, I've been able to wear them for over 8 hours (again, not recommended) and for 14.5mm they definitely look almost 15mm because of the thick limbal (black) ring around them.

 

I had no issues with dryness with these lenses (but I feel it could also be subjected per individual) but I absolutely love these lenses and would continue to repurchase them!  

I believe I got these lenses off candylens.com, I dont believe pinkyparadise carries this specific style but  I do think honey color does.

 

Super Dangan Ronpa 2 | Anime Expo 2013

WOW I HAD MEANT TO POST THIS MONTHS AGO. This has been sitting on 'draft' since July. Welp. I finally got around to finishing up the last batch of the photos. Theres a few photos on this post thats not even on tumblr, dA or on my facebook fanpage. Looking back at it, its still by far one of my favorite shoots from the weekend and I'd really like to thank and appreciate the cosplayers [patience with us :D
